Walk Beside Me is a Franciscan-based program designed to help people integrate more fully into the life of Saint Miriam. Every new member is afforded a “mentor” to help guide them through the process of becoming a parishioner, educating them on our history, and attending the New Member Welcome Orientations held periodically throughout the year. These mentors help equip our newcomers with a spirit of welcome, introduction, familiarity, and support. They will endeavor to help each member find their way to a life of love and service, based on our Franciscan ethos and ideals. They will also assist in introducing our Small Groups, and helping ensure that we grow as Catholics. In the words of Pope John Paul II, “The world you are inheriting is a world which desperately needs a new sense of brotherhood and human solidarity. It is a world which needs to be touched and healed by the beauty and richness of God’s love. It needs witnesses to that love.
