Beloved Family in Christ,
As we come to this Sunday’s celebration of the Feast of Christ the King, we’re invited to ask a very personal question: Who or what really rules my heart?
The Church ends the liturgical year not with a warning, but with a beautiful reminder that above all the noise, uncertainty, chaos and change in our midst, Christ is King: steady, faithful, and close.
Jesus’ kingship doesn’t look like the power we see in the world. He doesn’t rule by fear, domination, control, success, or status. His throne is the cross; His crown is woven with thorns; His victory is love poured out to the very end. This is the King who knows our weaknesses, carries our burdens, still calls us by name and loves us with a fierce and unending love!
Letting Christ be King means letting Him into the real places of our lives: the worries we don’t say out loud, the habits we struggle to change, the relationships that are messy or strained. It’s not just about words we pray in church, but about a quiet surrender in our everyday choices — choosing forgiveness over resentment, service over comfort, truth over convenience, love over hate, peace over chaos and conflict.
As we approach this Sunday, November 23, 2025, we can make a simple prayer:
“Jesus, King and Friend, reign in my heart, my country, my community, my home, my loved ones and my parish. Teach me to trust Your love more than my fears.”
May this feast renew our hope and remind us that no matter what we face, our lives are held in the hands of a King whose rule is mercy and whose final word is always love.
This Feast marks the end of our liturgical year and crowns everything we have lived and prayed through this past year with one great truth:
Jesus Christ is King — of heaven, of earth, of history, and of every human heart.
May this King, whose humble birth we will prepare for during Advent and celebrate at Christmas, truly rule our hearts completely and deeply ground our daily lives in His unconditional LOVE!
