Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
RCIA is a program designed for those are interested in learning more about Catholicism! We utilize a multi-prong approach that is revitalizing the faith! It includes: (a) Attendance routinely at Mass weekly, (b) Attendance at one spiritual group, (c) Receiving a copy of the Lectionary readings workbook that we get each year in Advent, (d) Participation in at least one Advent and one Lent program, and (e) Attendance at Bible Study along with a weekly guide to help you along with your group activities and friendships.
Generally a person will join the RCIA during the Summer/early Fall of one year and become Catholic at Easter time the next year! Once in a while this time frame changes according to the needs of the person. People from all sorts of religious backgrounds join RCIA. Some have been baptized in another Christian religion, and some have not. Some have been practicing members of another religious tradition for years and some have had little or no religious instruction or support. Some are already practicing Catholics, but are seeking a greater understanding of our Faith. Our RCIA program is a mix of praying, learning, and discussing how these apply to our lives. We also participate in prayerful ceremonies (called “rites”) and most importantly, using all of these experiences to build and grow in a relationship with God.
Our RCIA group meets once a week from September to May on Sunday mornings, after the later Mass, from about 11:45am until 12:45pm. Practicing Catholics are encouraged to join in as well – you are guaranteed to learn things about the Church than you never knew! We have room for all ages groups, elementary school through older adult. Join us! For more information, contact us today!
